Old Derby Animal Hospital is now offering appointment-based weekend urgent care services for your pet. Urgent care is veterinary care provided for non-life-threatening illnesses and/or injuries that come up unexpectedly for your pet.

Some examples of why your pet might need and urgent care appointment are:

  • Ear infections & skin irritations

  • Limping, lameness or difficulty walking

  • Wounds & minor lacerations or broken nail

  • Vomiting

  • Diarrhea

  • Minor eye irritations

  • Coughing

Our experienced doctor and technician team is here to help your pet with any of the above issues. If you are unsure if your pets’ condition is urgent or an emergency give us a call at 781-749-2800 and we can advise you on the best course of action.

For urgent care, we recommend calling ahead to schedule an urgent care appointment based on availability, so we can plan for your visit and to minimize the wait for your pet.

For more serious conditions such as sudden collapse, pale gums, struggling to breathe, major wounds or traumatic injury; we recommend seeking emergency care immediately at the closest emergency veterinary facility.
